Unsworth Partners with Logistics Specialist Shipamax to Automate Import Job Creation in CargoWise

Unsworth, the UK based freight forwarder has partnered with logistics specialists Shipamax to automate import job creation in CargoWise.

Before partnering with Shipamax, Unsworth previously implemented a template-based OCR solution in an effort to improve back-office document processes. Templates proved problematic and the majority of the data extraction was done still manually, resulting in highly skilled operations staff carrying out tedious manual data entry on a daily basis.

Both manual data entry and OCR processes were expensive and time-consuming and for an organisation with ambitious growth targets and a commitment to excellent customer service, the time was right to update the process and introduce automation.

Following a successful go-live and onboarding programme led by the Shipamax Customer Success Team, Unsworth has already experienced a number of process improvements, reporting a minimum time saving of 30% compared to the manual and OCR processes Shipamax replaced.

James Coombs, Head of Business Change and Innovation at Unsworth, commented:

“Since go-live, we’ve unlocked a number of process improvements, resulting in at least a 30% reduction in time taken to process documents for import jobs. In addition to fewer errors and delays, operators are now spending less time on manual data entry and more time serving key customer accounts, which we hope will have an impact on company performance and profitability.”

“At Unsworth, our customers are at the centre of everything we do and by investing in a logistics focused platform like Shipamax, I’m confident we will continue to improve our service and strengthen key customer relationships.”

Jenna Brown, CEO and Co-Founder at Shipamax:

“Following a successful rollout, it’s great to hear that Unsworth are already seeing positive results and realising the benefits of implementing a specialized automation platform. Despite challenging market conditions, 2020 has been a big year for new customer acquisitions at Shipamax, and we’re excited to be working with another leading freight forwarder in Unsworth, who join the likes of GKN Freight, Hillebrand, Seaway and John Good in selecting Shipamax to automate their back-office document processes.”

At Shipamax, we use machine learning to help freight forwarders process documents faster 20 times faster than manual data entry. Get in touch for a free demo today.
