John Good Logistics Selects Shipamax to Streamline Its Bill of Lading Document Process
Shipamax selected for its CargoWise integration expertise and anti-template technology that will allow John Good to eliminate the need for OCR template creation
John Good Logistics Ltd, one of the UK’s largest and most experienced freight forwarders has selected Shipamax to automate the processing of its Import Bill of Lading documents.
Before partnering with Shipamax, John Good had been processing documents using OCR technology implemented by a third-party provider. Shortly after the project rollout, the limitations of a template-based OCR solution became clear, when the team wanted to add new carriers, they had to create a whole new set of rules and templates, which was a time-consuming and costly process for the business.
Head of IT, Barry Clarkson decided that the template-based OCR solution was unscalable and the time was right to move to an automation solution that would integrate with John Good’s CargoWise instance. Shipamax was identified as the best fit solution to help John Good create and update data from import jobs directly into CargoWise.
Barry Clarkson, Head of IT at John Good, commented:
“Replacing the existing OCR solution with Shipamax will transform how we work, and we’re confident it will save our operators a huge amount of time which can then be spent engaging with key customers and providing an even better service.”
“Following a successful rollout, I believe that automation has a huge role to play in the future of our business, and I expect this project will be a catalyst for future process improvement and further automation across other document types at John Good.”
Clarkson added, “From day one, we’ve worked closely with the Customer Success team, who have done an excellent job to ensure a smooth rollout, providing support and guidance from the initial kick-off meeting all the way through to our project go live.”
Jenna Brown, CEO and Co-Founder at Shipamax:
“It’s clear that John Good is a forward-thinking logistics organisation and have quickly recognised the benefits of implementing logistics focused automation technology. Following a successful rollout, John Good will be able to eliminate the need for time-consuming and error-prone OCR templates, freeing up operators time and unlocking real value for the business and customers. We’re looking forward to working with John Good on further automation projects.”
At Shipamax, we use machine learning to help freight forwarders process documents faster and cheaper than is possible with traditional template-based OCR.
